Submission Information

Due date for all submissions was December 17, 2022

Submission is now closed.

Three publication formats were aceepted:

  1. Full Papers are research or technical publications following the Research or Technical Paper template. Full papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by up to three reviewers. One author from each accepted Full Paper will present a podium presentation at the Symposium. Accepted full papers will be published as they complete the editorial process in Biomedical Sciences Instrumentation.
  2. Extended Abstracts are up to two pages in length, including figures and references, and must follow the Extended Abstract template.
Extended Abstracts will be rigorously peer-reviewed by up to three reviewers. One author from each accepted Extended Abstract may elect to present a podium or poster presentation at the Symposium.
Selected Extended Abstracts will be published as proceedings in a special edition of Biomedical Sciences Instrumentation.
  3. Brief Abstracts are no more than 250 words, excluding references, and must follow the Brief Abstract template.
Brief Abstracts will be reviewed by the 2023 Symposium Committee. One author from each accepted Brief Abstract will be invited to present a poster at the Symposium. Selected Brief Abstracts will be included in the symposium's program booklet.

There are a few important things to consider when submitting:

  1. Abstract submission is meant to welcome recent work or intermediate results of large projects. Presentation of work as an abstract (Extended or Brief) does not preclude later publication of completed projects in another journal or at another conference.
  2. Symposium registration is not included with any submission. If an author wishes to present an accepted publication, whether at the podium or with a poster, that person must also register for the Symposium.
  3. Incorrectly formatted emails or submissions may be delayed and may not be accepted as a result.

If you are planning to submit a full paper, please send an intent to submit email to RMBS Symposium Organizers Email with the subject line FP_FirstAuthorLastName_2023 (with the first author's last name taking the place of "FirstAuthorLastName") and in the body of the message the title of your paper and up to a 250 word abstract.

For Extended or Brief Abstracts, please submit properly formatted documents (in PDF format) via email to RMBS Symposium Organizers Email.
The subject line must be formatted as follows:
