Types of Submissions:

Full Abstracts: describing the problem investigated, methods, results, and a brief conclusion. in 500 words or less and must follow the Full Abstract template
- Selected abstract authors will be invited to present a platform or poster presentation at the symposium
- Selected abstracts will be invited to submit a full-length manuscript for publication in the Biomedical Sciences Instrumentation journal
- Published as conference proceedings

Full Papers are research or technical publications following the Research or Technical Paper template.
Full papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by up to three reviewers. One author from each accepted Full Paper will be invited to present a platform or poster presentation at the symposium
Accepted full papers will be published as they complete the editorial process in Biomedical Sciences Instrumentation.
To be considered for the April issue, submissions must received by January 24th, 2024 and revisions by February 28th, 2024
Only camera ready manuscripts strictly following the template appropriate for the type of manuscript will be accepted for review:
- Format: pdf
- Paper size: Letter (NOT A4)
- Left and right margins: 0.75"
- Top and bottom margins: 1.13"
- No header nor footer
Notes:
- All abstract/paper submissions are peer-reviewed
- Presenting author from each paper/abstract must register for the 61st IBSIS-RMBS Symposium to present the work (if presenting more than one paper, additional submission fees are required)
- Refer to the Biomedical Scineces Instrumentation Guidelines for Authors for details regarding the review process
There are a few important things to consider when submitting:

Abstract submission is meant to welcome recent work or intermediate results of large projects. Presentation of work as an abstract does not preclude later publication of completed projects in another journal or at another conference.

Symposium registration is not included with any submission. If an author wishes to present an accepted publication, whether at the podium or with a poster, that person must also register for the Symposium.

Incorrectly formatted emails or submissions may be delayed and may not be accepted as a result.
If you are planning to submit a Full Paper, please send an intent to submit email to with the subject line FP_FirstAuthorLastName_2024 (with the first author's last name taking the place of "FirstAuthorLastName") and in the body of the message the title of your paper and up to a 250 word abstract.
If you are submitting a Full Abstract, please submit properly formatted documents (in PDF format) via email to with the subject line FA_FirstAuthorLastName_2024.
